I am certain that if you’ve been in church for any amount of time that you’ve heard the scripture that comes from Philippians 4:13- “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. Am I right? But what does that really mean?
For me, this scripture is telling you and me that with a relationship in Jesus Christ, we are able to do the things that He has called us to do. The key to “all things” is the relationship with Christ. Without Him, “all things” can quickly become overwhelming. But with Him, we receive the strength, wisdom, and grace we need—not necessarily to do everything we WANT, but everything He WILLS us to do. This verse doesn’t promise a life free of struggle. Instead, it promises that Christ will empower us through it.
Whether you’re facing physical pain, emotional exhaustion, or spiritual battles, Philippians 4:13 reminds us that our source of strength is not in ourselves, but in Jesus. He enables us to endure, to show up, to keep believing, to keep healing, and to keep moving forward—especially when it feels impossible.
So today, ask yourself: what is God calling me to do in this season? Maybe it’s something big and public, or maybe it’s something quiet and unseen—like resting, waiting, or forgiving. Whatever it is, you don’t have to muster the strength alone. Christ is your source.
Let us rejoice knowing that the Lord will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ (Philippians 4:19) and that whatever He is calling us to do, if we are willing, He will come alongside us and give us exactly what we need.
He may not come early, but He will never be late!
